I'm a construction contractor as well as forester who lives in one of the more remote locations in the lower 48 at the far west boundary of Taos County, NM 20 miles south of the Colorado border. Since receiving my degree in History, Philosophy, and Religion from Columbia University in 1977, I've lived in the Mountain West and stayed true to many of the basic liberal principles of the'60s. As a working class kind of guy, some might describe me as the polar opposite of "Joe the Plumber" in that I actually own my business and would not mind paying the extra taxes should I be so lucky to earn $250,000+ per year!
