What would it take to have good government ? As wealth accumulates, powerful take over or game government for themselves. In late stages authoritarianism prevails and people are denied basics. Business as usual now risks environmental collapse.

Did the US lose WWII ? We fought Fascism during WWII, but it was always here and has now metastasized to the Trump administration. Republicans never liked the New Deal, have reversed FDR's high values, attacked democracy, rendered checks and balances inoperable, allied with authoritarians, so we lost WWII.
