A Tale of Two Bags: Brown Bags vs. Tea Bags Question: How would the mainstream media react if several organizations mobilized nation-wide demonstrations to demand action on their political agenda? Answer: It depends on who did the organizing. Fringe, unpopular AftroTurf Tea Baggers get wall-to-wall coverage from the so called "liberal media". Grassroots Brown Baggers advocating common sense mainstream policies on healthcare and peace get a mass media silent treatment.

Progressive Democrats of America Helps Donna Edwards Win Progressive Democrats of America helped progressive challenger Donna Edwards win a stunning upset victory against eight-term incumbent Albert Wynn. Despite Wynn's huge advantages in terms of special interest contributions and insider connections, Donna Edwards marshaled support from what Wynn's campaign dismissed as "a vast left-wing conspiracy" to defeat the most conservative member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

"Come senators, congressmen, please heed the call!" Democrats ignore Bush / Cheney crimes and the American Ideal that holds no Vice President, no President, no administration, is a law unto themselves. As Bob Dylan sang, "Come senators, congressmen, please heed the call! Don't stand in the doorway! Don't block up the hall! For he that gets hurt will be he who has stalled." Democrats will get hurt if they continue to stall on holding the criminals accountable.

it's time to be good friends to our Senators A good friend tells you when you're wrong, and it's time to be good friends to our Senators. Any Senators who voted the wrong way, to "censure" MoveOn.org for an ad which raised legitimate concerns about the Bush Administration's politicization of the military and misconduct sending Gen. David Patraeus to Congress as essentially a PR stooge. They blew it.

Impeach for Peace! When Cindy Sheehan led our "Peace Surge" into DC this week, Sen. Reid was considering supporting Bush's Push to send more troops in Iraq. The Democratic House leadership was too self-satisfied to take defunding the war off the table. Then Cindy took over their press conference in the Cannon House Office Building.

There's Nothing to Fear from "the I Word" but Fear Itself Impeachment is out there. It was a major issue in the 2006 election. As for the base, we've clearly made the decision: Pushing for investigations, exposure, censure and - yes, even impeachment - of this extremely partisan Republican Administration will help Democrats win elections. It's also simply the only acceptable moral and ethical thing to do. You can help mobilize support in the House for accountability / impeachment.
