Jerry Brown needs to be called out for fake "pardons" - he is not a man of mercy Calif. Gov. Jerry Brown is being glorified for giving pardons to people who have been out of prison for years. He is anything but a compassionate, fair man. The torture and murder at High Desert Prison exposed this week is his fault.

Prison Officials Lying About riot at Sierra Conservation Center Warden Frank X. Chavez lied to the media about a riot that took place at Sierra Conservation Center last week involving at least six serious injuries. There are reports of torture and murder at the prison and complaints are being filed with the United Nations in hopes that an investigation will actually take place. California prisoners have no place to go for help, so riots are predictable, and preventable

Calif. Prison Reformers: Don't be suckered by sound bites and statistics New Zealanders California's 3 Strikes law is irrational, unsustainable and at the core of the prison and budget woes that have devastated the state. There are no academic statistics that prove it has done one thing to reduce crime. Our violent crime rate is still 11% above the national average, while NY, by using methods of rehabilitation, has fallen dramatically well below national averages. Why is New Zealand using us as a model?

Outrageous rates charged for prison phone calls breaks family ties Collect calls from prisons are outrageously high from the families who can least afford them. It has long been established that family ties are critical to rehabilitation, yet phone company monopolies and correctional departments are making out like bandits. An action to cap the rates is before the FCC.

California Constitutional Convention initiatives filed by the people, for the people Californians in crisis have filed two initiatives in an attempt to empower themselves to re-write their State Constitution. Paul Currier, a patriot who is a poor man, drafted two articles which if passed, would give Californians a chance to revise their own laws. The goal is to keep special interests away from the lawmakers. It's a multi-partisan plan that could work with enough grassroots support.

Suspicious Death at Chowchilla Womens Prison - Jackboots Obstruct Journalists and Jailhouse Lawyers More than 4,500 deaths have taken place in California's prisons over the past decade, and even the guards have confessed to torture and outrageous abuse. State officials will not remedy the problem and are hell bent on covering it up in order to preserve the human bondage industry which pays for the bureaucracy. The jailhouse lawyers are suffering severe retaliation and blocked access to the courts.

Prisoner Release Ruling is Long Overdue as the Death Toll Mounts One of the most asinine laws in existence is that prisoners must parole back to the area where they were arrested, regardless of whether or not they have a job or support of family/friends there. Many prisoners want to leave the state or the country when they are paroled but this is prohibited. Why? A prisoner is dying every day under the eyes of the media.
