We heard just today that Jean Hay Bright, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Maine, was doing a Time Warner buy for her version of the Lie/Die TV spot which is aleady starting to create such a controversy. Like so many of the other candidates on The Peace Team, Jean is not backing down in calling out the Bush adminstration on the lies that got us into Iraq, and the further ongoing lies which purport to keep us there.
CLICK HERE TO DONATE TO HELP RUN THE LIE/DIE TV SPOTS NOW
The Peace Team candidates are standing together calling for our troops in Iraq to START coming home now. And the Lie/Die TV spots show the truth for what it is. For some people that's VERY controversial. But you can see Jean's version of the video here on this page and judge for yourself. In just two weeks almost $50,000 has been donated to help get these dynamic TV spots on the air . . . thanks to people just like you. Let us now pull out all the stops and make the maximum committment to getting the peace message out.
And when a candidate of such courage arises, how can we not do everything within our power to support them, and to help them get their message out that they are standing up now for real change? Olympia Snowe has a cliche line she uses constantly in some form or another, that our troops in Iraq will not stay "a moment longer than necessary", she says. That moment PASSED quite a long time ago. It's a way for her to APPEAR like she cares without actually doing anything about it.
Will the people of Maine be stuck for another 6 years with someone who talks like a moderate, while they continue to rubber stamp the reprehensible people-hostile agenda of the Bush administration? Or will they hear more about a different candidate, with more real integrity in her little finger that the entire Republican caucus put together. The decision is yours America, if you will step up yourself and do all you can to support heros like Jean Hay Bright now.
