Well, I guess it depends on what you call "the media". I write for OpedNews.com and will include your comments in their entirety. I am no fan of this administration by a long shot, and I tend to view everything they say (and unfortunately that does include even folks like you at state) with some skepticism, but I believe in giving everyone their say.
Let me propose something and see what you think. If it is made possible for me to go to GITMO and take a good look around and interview some of the folks, I will report everything with a very balanced take and that includes a lot of photos. I have complete control of what I cover, submit and publish, and my articles do show up on Google news.
Let me know and thanks for responding.

Dear Steven,
Funny you should ask! I actually did take pictures and went to great lengths to get them burned onto a CD to bring with me to London. A TV program I was appearing on had agreed to use them. They picked up the CD from my hotel in advance but, as I was on my way to the studio, they explained that for technical reasons they would not be showing them.
I have no illusions that the media will portray the detention facilities as anything rosy--nor should they--they are, after all, detention facilities but why are they showing photos of a place that has not existed for several years?
Yours,
Colleen
