The tribesmen of Bajaur Agency by following the historic decision of the citizens of United States in the recently held elections have voted in favour of candidate who has been campaigning for democracy in the tribal areas since long. "Democrats of the United States have set a example for us and this is the reason that we have used our vote for the candidate who has been working for democracy," said several tribesmen.

Many observers have been describing the result in the election in Bajaur Agency a defeat for all those who are responsible for the destruction of this world. The terrorists have increased the miseries for the innocent and peace loving people in the world.

According to reports, Awami National Party (ANP) candidate Shahabuddin Khan has won the by-election at NA-44 in Bajaur Agency.

Khan got 19,000 votes in 59 of 61 polling stations, well ahead of his closest rival, Syed Badshah of the Pakistan Muslim League, who got 4,700 votes. Voter turnout was around 26 percent, with no women voting.

The PPP and Jamaat-e-Islami boycotted the poll, the latter organising protests in Bajaur and countrywide against the poll. Haroon Rashid of the JI vacated the seat in protest at the bombing of a local madrassa in which 80 people were killed.

The tribesmen have demanded that the rulers of the world should accept the result of elections in Bajaur Agency and United States and stop more fighting. According to them, all problems can be resolved through negotion.
