There are other good signs. Some of my online groups have gotten very practical, organized and activist. The outpouring of creative writing on the internet is astounding. Ways of stopping the satanic cabal are proliferating faster than the fascists can control them. The media are breaking out of the iron grip of the Bush administration. And sober Christians are challenging the pernicious rapture cult more and more.
A new spirit is blowing through America, a spirit of life. It is a spirit that values truth rather than agreement with the winners, integrity rather than possessions, justice rather than mutual backscratching. The scales are falling from the eyes of America. The "Christian" cloak of the Bush administration has been torn, revealing the wolf within.
It's late in the game. Bush, Cheney et al have had 5 years already to wreak havoc with the economy, the environment, the Constitution, the morale of the people. Their actions have, deliberately?, hastened the inevitable tribulation, the inevitable running into limits as we humans, the dominant species of the planet, overflow our ecological niche and destroy our own habitat and that of most other species.
The rapture cult, as preached by the "Christian coalition" is a death cult, providing "religious" cover for vultures like Cheney's Halliburton and Bush's Carlyle group to pick at the carcass of planet earth. But their basic assumption, that the planet is doomed, and people will easily be led to the slaughter, is wrong. America is waking up.
The spirit of life, truth and peace is blowing through America. This is the true spirit of Jesus. The true rapture consists of giving up attachment to the current organization of society, and to the current culture, which is willing pay lots of blood for oil, and instead, following the Prince of Peace. It's happening! And He will prevail. If we follow His law of love, we will find ways to cope with the ecological crisis, and survive, with a culture of peace.
