Pakistan's President General Pervez Musharraf has reportedly issued a warning to the United States to recognize the role of Pakistan in the war on terrorism and pay it more dollars, otherwise it will stop fighting against terrorists in the country. According to him, Pakistan has killed thousands of tribesmen. And, they are still busy killing tribesmen. As far as the terrorists are concerned, they have been enjoying the hospitility of the "higher-ups."
According to a report, President Pervez Musharraf has said that Pakistan’s role in the war on terrorism should be recognized with real spirit.
The president was talking to a delegation of US Congressmen led by Mr. Bonier, which called on him Saturday at President House.
The US delegation discussed Pak-US relations, the war on terrorism and other international and regional issues.
The president also expressed his reservations over a Congress legislation, in which US aid to Pakistan has been made conditional. He called for review on the legislation, saying that Pakistan have serious reservations over the bill.
The situation in tribal areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan was also discussed in the meeting.
The Congressmen talking on upcoming election in Pakistan said that the United States want real democracy in Pakistan, for which holding free and fair elections in the country is necessary.
United States ambassador in Pakistan N.W. Peterson was also present in the meeting.
