The Human Light Poem

Human light is all we have

a sign of our awareness of the miracle

of consciousness of self and others

of our bio existence

out in the middle of a vast unknown space

on a planet on which we are ourselves are isolates

the only known life in the universe

and if the planet were to poof

leaving you afloat in the cold and dark

all around you everywhere you looked

nobody else like you anywhere out there

.

As the late great Rodney King once wondered,

"Can't we all just get along?"
