"Multiculturalism didn't work in Germany, and it's not working now."~~German Chancellor Angela Merkel
Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel fired her first major salvo against immigrants in Germany, many of whom helped get Germany out of its mess and provide it with cheap labor after WWII. She is accusing them of not learning the German language and of not "being German" enough. She is making them "the other," or the outsiders in German society, and we all know where this led with Hitler against the Jews and others before WWII. She is mirroring the rhetoric of the administrations in America, France and England, that is, moving matters closer to an ethnic cleansing of the Muslims in their countries, because Muslims are the group they are speaking of in code.
Merkel is speaking lies, just as Hitler made up his lies about Jews and others, and Arizona Republicans are shouting against immigrants and cheap labor helping the Arizona economy -- allegedly "putting white Americans out of work." All lies. She is also voicing the fear that Muslims in Germany, and in Europe, as with Latinos in America, may outnumber the Germanic population of Germany in time. French President Nicolas Sarkozy had already felt this fear in France, as did Tony Blair in England, and both have taken measures to make the Muslim populations in those countries afraid and this has put them under undue psychological and social pressure.
But where does this lead us? If we look at the Islamophobia by the American, British, French, and now, German governments, it is clear they are in lockstep against the immigrants, especially Muslims.
We have a new ethnic cleansing on its way, and it was led by the U.S. under Bush, now Obama, then Blair in England, then Sarkozy in France, where he even got the national supreme court to help him discriminate against Muslims wearing a head covering of any sort (he did not include the Jews in this, nor the Sikhs, so it was obviously against Muslims, as was seen in the court documents he filed and won with), now it is Merkel's turn to join the chorus in Germany.
Now it's the Muslims; later it will be the Spanish and Italians, especially the Mediterranean ones, but it's coming, not to worry. It's Hitler all over again, but this time, Merkel used the term, "multiculturalism" by saying, "Multiculturalism didn't work, and isn't working in Germany." This is but a code phrase, to make the immigrant populations and their children "the other," and thus turn the existing majority against them.
Sadly, there is a joint Hitler express streaming against the Muslims from Germany, America, England and France. I hope the world has enough sense to stop it this time; otherwise, we are in for more pogroms and ethnic cleansing.
Incidentally, don't forget the ethnic cleansing going on in Arizona against the Mexicans and other Latino groups; America wants to take on all the non-Anglos, so that the Anglos can "take back their country." As if it wasn't a part of Mexico, and was nothing, and is nothing more, than stolen property taken from Mexico by American military force.
Slavery of Africans -- the same thing. They were always "the other" that, according to the Anglos, were not even fully human. So, what does it mean not to be "German," or not to be "white," or not to be "a westerner," or not to be whatever? When it comes down to it, aren't we all human beings? I'd say it's time we started acting as if we knew that, rather than trying to insult, degrade and stereotype "the other" that some use as scapegoats for their own weaknesses and failures.
In Merkel's case, Germany is the only country in
the European Union that is doing well; so, Germany loves the idea of an EU. But, by scapegoating the alleged
"non-Germans," she's taking focus away from the financial suffering and upset in
Greece, Italy and Spain -- all of whom are suffering under the dictas of Germany
and the Brussels bureaucrats and bankers who run the EU. If she can get this song taken to heart by
other EU members, she can take focus away from the failure of the EU to be fair to all
members. The EU common currency and
other matters were bound to be failures, because it was not a unified country
like the USA.
But remember this, America never really came together as a country until it was threatened in WWII; thus, it took us a long time, and a monstrous civil war with primitive weapons to work things out at a time when the world was a lot less complicated. With the weapons and complications of today, and the differences in cultures within the EU, Merkel may be using this scapegoating to achieve a sense of unity, at the expense of the "immigrant other" that she's shooting at with her new Hitlerian rhetoric.
Beware world, the Hitler mentality did not die with him; it was there before him, and it's still alive today, and may always be here (but will lie dormant but never die).
If we follow out the logic of where the "western leaders" are taking us, and their American-led NATO wars, you can see that the only lives of value are those of the westerners, not the indigenous people of those lands (Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, etc.)
