There's no question that these three men have high IQs. That has nothing to do with other aspects of intelligence that suggests that they are profoundly impaired in other kinds of intelligence.
Howard Gardner gave us the theory of multiple intelligences, which Wikipedia describes as
" is a theory of intelligence that differentiates it into specific (primarily sensory) "modalities", rather than seeing intelligence as dominated by a single general ability. This model was proposed by Howard Gardner in his 1983 book Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences.... Gardner chose eight abilities that he held to meet these criteria: musical--rhythmic, visual--spatial, verbal--linguistic, logical--mathematical, bodily--kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic. He later suggested that existential and moral intelligence may also be worthy of inclusion. Although the distinction between intelligences has been set out in great detail, Gardner opposes the idea of labeling learners to a specific intelligence. Each individual possesses a unique blend of all the intelligences. Gardner firmly maintains that his theory of multiple intelligences should "empower learners", not restrict them to one modality of learning."
Based on their repeated history, these three judges have proven that they are literal emotional cretins, devoid of compassion, willing to take away healthcare from millions of people, willing to deny such a basic right as marriage. There ought to be a way to remove them for decerebrate, profoundly ignorant functioning total absent of compassion, let alone justice for all.
These three played key roles in Citizens United-- a decision that opened US elections to massive influence from non-American individuals, companies and groups.
If their outbursts and outrageous, idiotic behavior, behavior that was even bad for Republicans and corporations (read Wendell Potter's article on the Obamacare decision, Insurers' arguments key to Supreme Court decision
) was not enough before to show that they should not be making decisions for Americans, should not be sitting with such roles of responsibility. Potter's article shows how Chief Justice Roberts was not demonstrating compassion or kindness when he handed a gift to health care corporations.
I have to wonder, are these men sociopaths. Keep in mind that sociopaths are smart, charming, charismatic. They have no empathy and they don't care. They like to play games with people. They are callous. Stupid sociopaths go to jail. Brilliant ones rise high. What do you think? Perhaps Clarence Thomas rarely opens his mouth because he knows he'll be caught. And clearly, Scalia doesn't care about what people think, as well as not caring about people.
