Dear EON Friends,

We are writing to ask if you can help us cover the 'As Goes Ohio . . . Election Protection Conference,' being sponsored by our investigative journalist friends Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman at FreePress.org in Columbus, Ohio next weekend. http://www.freepress.org/econf/
Past attacks on election integrity have been extensively documented by Fitrakis and Wasserman, who have appeared in our several past films on the topic. Now McCain campaign insiders have come forward to warn of GOP plans to steal the 2008 election in at least three swing states including Ohio.
The idea is to shoot and edit a 15-20 minute on-line and DVD video report on the risks to election integrity and activist strategies for election protection in the upcoming presidential vote.
FreePress.org has come up with $500 to pay the partial costs of shooting and editing highlights of the conference. Thanks to our friend and Board Member Rachel, we've scored two cheap roundtrip tickets to the midwest.
Your past contributions, together with those of other supporters, made possible the posting on YouTube of over 40 video reports on the Light Brown Apple Moth aerial spraying issue.
Movement organizers tell us our work made an important contribution to the so-far successful Stop The Spray campaign, by 'putting human faces on the issue.'
Now we're at work on a TV documentary on that movement, and the wider environmental and food sovereignty issues it raises, entitled CHECKMATE: Pesticides, Politics and People Power.
Anything you can do to help with the travel and post-production expenses for the election protection project and/or general support for completion of CHECKMATE will be gratefully appreciated.
No contribution is too small.
Please help us continue our coverage of movements that are making a difference by making a tax-deductible donation to EON - the Ecological Options Network.
Donors of $50 or more will receive a DVD of the completed videos your contributions make possible.
Onward and Upward,
Mary Beth Brangan
