Here's my response this morning to a Facebook friend who posted a weary and frustrated post, ending with "Nothing has changed."
From where I sit, my friend, I see change...it's a little hard to identify the details since everythig seems to be in a chaotic clusterf*ck right now.
But things have changed, Bernie Sanders energized a lot of people who responded to his ethics and compassion and who are much more active now than 2 years ago.
We saw Tulsi Gabbard publicly abandon a corrupt ship in favor of a higher moral path, and she was rewarded with over 80% of the votes in her election, leading me to believe that ethics count and people notice.
We have the internet which allows us to disseminate information rapidly which has resulted in speedier support for the Native Americans at Standing Rock than if we had just depended on newspapers like in the "olden" days.
We have Greg Palast and Bob Fitrakis who are bloodhounds on the path of stolen votes in this election.
I think when we decide that we want to see change, then it is more easy to find it. I do understand that it sure seems hard to find right now, and also that many people feel bruised and beaten up by this election, and that's a result of corruption in both major parties, they both indulged in vote theft in this election cycle. The Dems did it first, and look at them now, if that is not an example of karmic change, I don't know what is.
I think we are finding our way through this better than we can calculate right now. Remember that scene from the African Queen, when the camera shows that they are not as lost as they thought?
And I also think that whatever we personally need to do to remain hopeful helps to change the results we get. So I am sending you a big hug ;-)
