Bush's Parting Shot, Manipulating TV Policy to Help Corporate Friends

By       (Page 1 of 1 pages)   No comments
Message Bill Hare

George W. Bush had not done enough to benefit corporate cronies with his huge tax cuts and launching a war in Iraq on behalf of big oil with emphasis on corporate giants like Dick Cheney’s Halliburton.

Despite efforts by incoming President-Elect Barack Obama, who was thwarted by the Senate from achieving a delay in action, George W. Bush told the nation’s cable companies that he was definitely on their side.

At the same time Bush’s actions revealed that he was once more siding against the middle class and poor, especially those on fixed incomes suffering from the calamitous economy he achieved through his and partner Dick Cheney’s policies.

Those so-called rabbit ears, those antennas from roofs that brought television into the homes of those struggling middle class, poor families and individuals just had to go.

This is the cable era and the message here could be just like the one the Republican right emphatically declared during years when Republicans were in office regarding America, “Love it or leave it.” This effort to silence political criticism was understandably dropped when a Democratic president like Bill Clinton held office.

Anyhow, you folks out there with rabbit ears who have been getting your television that way, we have a message for you: switch to cable and do it fast! If you complain then you had better move to France. Remember that the operative term for patriotic Limbaugh listeners and Fox News viewers is “freedom fries.”

Don’t give us any of those left wing clichés mouthed by those who are even critical of Sarah Palin! Tighten your belts. The cable companies need your money and you have been holding out all too long!

It is time for you folks to provide that money for those cable companies. It is your patriotic duty in a capitalistic system based on freedom and don’t tell us that the move to all-digital television cuts sharply into the money you have to operate your household. Don’t tell us that the money is shrinking due to inflation, especially mounting medical costs!

Okay, so you had better pay your heating bill or the brutalities of bone chilling winter will visit you indoors. You had better ditch your rabbit ears and assist the cable companies in their hour of need!

George W. Bush is asking you to perform your duty as loyal Americans. After all, look at what he has done for this country economically.

That better than $10 trillion debt he assisted mightily in running up to that stratospheric level was all done for you! It was done for America! Don’t you know that?

So bite the bullet, chomp on some freedom fries, and do your duty to once more help George W. Bush’s corporate America by ditching those rabbit ears and making out your check to your local cable provider. It is all about sacrifice as defined by George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.
