"This is just the beginning," Whitfield concluded. "Phase I is open. But the vision extends far beyond what we see today. The NAACP will continue advocating for the complete realization of the Delta Rhythm & Bayous Cultural District vision. We will continue ensuring African American heritage is honored, celebrated, and protected. That's our mission. That's our commitment. And as the DRB Plaza demonstrates, when the NAACP commits to a vision, that vision becomes reality."
