Palestinians are largely denied land rightfully theirs. Clean water and other essential services aren't provided. Settler needs are prioritized.
Multiple Israeli military bases occupy Valley land. Soldiers terrorize Palestinian residents. They're called "intruders" on their own property. They're dispossessed of what's rightfully theirs.
Haaretz took note. An editorial headlined "Cleansing the Jordan Valley." Israel bears full responsibility. It's "causing grave injustice to dozens of old, poverty-stricken communities that make a living from herding and farming."Doing so is "cruel and inhuman." It "stands in opposition to every democratic and civilized privilege." It "proves that (Netanyahu's) call to".renew peace negotiations is nothing but a ploy."
On February 3, Israeli forces conducted sweeping arrests. Hamas-affiliated officials were targeted. Two MPs were included. Residents identified them as Hebron's Hatim Qafisha and East Jerusalem's Ahmad Attoun.
Thirteen other Hamas officials were arrested. Over two dozen in all were seized from Hebron, Ramallah, Nablus, Qalqilyah, Tulkarkem, and Bethlehem.
Human rights activists said Israel wants Fatah/Hamas reconciliation efforts subverted. A charitable organization was also targeted. Equipment, documents, and personal property were confiscated.
A Hamas-affiliated web site said soldiers burst into homes with dogs. Arrests followed. Watch for much worse ahead.
On Saturday, Netanyahu explained priorities going forward. Syria is targeted. So is Iran.
