Fast Forward to Trump's State of the Union address, and Bernie Sanders' response to it:
Granted, the Democratic Party is fractured but is also angry enough at Trump's record that we saw five responses to Trump's State of the Union address:
I posted this comment in several Facebook political groups (not just Bernie groups):
Bernie was brilliant and stole the show in the video above! He clearly had no speech writer: his entire 14 minute response l came out of his heart, soul, and mind. He clearly establishes himself as the front runner for 2020, and count on the fact that we will again face inevitable DNC blindsiding swindles! This is a great video on that subject, one of many! Please ask some friends to join our group, Bernie Sanders: Advice and Strategies to Win in 2020. I would like to double the membership in this group, and that can only be done with your personal help and your adding your members as friends. Thank you!
My next post was in response to some very hostile comments in a group called Democracy Rising-Democrats United, and to having my post deleted and being blocked from even seeing the group!
Can anyone in this group please tell me something about the FB Group, Democracy Rising-Democrats United? This afternoon, I posted Bernie's response to the State of the Union Address, and within a few hours that action got me blocked from the group as well as the post deleted!
Is that one under the surface a strongly pro-Clinton group, or what? When I posted it, I did make one mild comment about the DNC blindsiding Democrats about Clinton's "baggage," which I believe is well known and similarly perceived to just about everyone. One member of that group posted about 15 comments, all angry and hostile.
So it looks like all the volatile inter-party hostility from 2015 and 2016 will start all over again, I am sad to say. How curious, in a group with such a conciliatory name....Anybody have any ideas or responses? I am really quite speechless. I am, as you perhaps know, the creator of another active group with almost 5000 members called BERNIE SANDERS ADVICE AND STRATEGIES TO WIN IN 2020. Was that title alone enough to cook my goose in terms of posting in the other group I mentioned? Or was it merely praise for Bernie's great speech?
A quick trip to Wikipedia informed me what follows here, and one thing is clear, that to the best of my knowledge, the present Facebook group with the same name, has ZERO connection to the original group described below:
Democracy Rising was an American organization founded in 2001 to oppose corporate corruption. It later became an organization opposed to the military actions of the United States against Iraq and, after the Iraq War, to promote an exit strategy to end the occupation of Iraq.
It began with three volunteers, Jason Kafoury (National Coordinator), Matthew Zawisky (National Organizer), and Richard Martin (National Operations Manager and Web Administrator). It organized manifestations called "Super Rallies" across the Eastern United States under the umbrella of a non-profit that had been founded by Ralph Nader, focusing on corporate corruption during the Enron debacle, then merged into an anti-war group led by Kevin Zeese following the 2004 elections.
It then became a member of United for Peace and Justice. The organization folded in late 2007.
The Responses from Facebook groups about this matter corroborated my conclusions that Clinton operatives are still at it, doing all they can to derail Bernie Sanders' stature; including these from:
#OurResistance: Nicole Grattarola ~~~ What makes you think that the Democrats have changed their stance on Bernie? They hated him during the primaries and still do. Keep that in mind when you dream of a 2020 run.
I answered: Your point is well taken, but what will evolve has more to do with Bernie's access to increased power and credibility and less to do with the imperious wishes of whatever parts of the DNC that were orchestrating the Clinton's wishes.
Nicole Grattarola: That group isn't the DNC. It's rank and file Democrats that supported Hillary. I'm honestly not sure what Bernie is up to.
Allyn K Llyr There is a group "Democracy Rising-Democrats United" that is Damaging Democrats. It appears to be a corporate run group pretending to be about Democratic values. They are like the Tea-Party for Dems, just like the far right supported the Tea-Partiers; these are supported by other Billionaires to get us to fight each other. They say they want debate, right in their opening, but demand a loyalty oath and suppress all debate, only party line adherence to DNC script is allowed or you are kicked out. They are the DNC version of Trump backers.
