Similar fluid transient explosion pressures and destruction would have resulted from failures of either the viewport or the adhesive, where both are possible. Although details are unavailable for absolute proof, and after careful considerations, my gut feel goes back and forth between believing that an adhesive failure separated the hull from the forward dome and the viewport partially collapsed and then blew outward.. The Titan wreckage seems more consistent with the adhesive failure, and the recorded explosion sounds seem more consistent with a failed viewport. The only sure thing is that the Titan exploded.
Communications and Coverups
An implosion has been an implicit assumption since the Titan disaster, and not surprisingly the MBI concluded that there was only an implosion and no explosion. They concluded that their preconceived implosions conclusions were correct, where there was no place for opposing facts. Suppressing the facts constitutes a coverup.
The following letter was sent to the Coast Guard after publishing this Op Ed.
A Fundamentally Flawed Investigation of the Titan Submersible, 8/5/2025
In addition to "The Titan Submersible Blew Apart in an Explosion Before A Partial Crushing - A Fight Against Public Opinion", a second Op Ed furthers the discussion of the Titan explosion ("The Real Story of Netflix's Fundamentally Flawed Documentary, 'Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster'". Together, these two Op Eds summarize new research presented for consideration by the Coast Guard's Marine Board of Investigation with respect to the Titan disaster.
When I finally located a NetFlix email address, I sent the following message to the NetFlix Media Center.
A Fundamentally Flawed Documentary Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster, 8/9/2025
Comments are welcome for my highly critical technical review of a recent documentary (The Real Story of NetFLix's Fundamentally Flawed Documentary - Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster", OpEd News). While your documentary was well researched, foundational Coast Guard information was technically flawed. That is, flawed Marine Board of Investigation errors introduced important errors into the NetFlix documentary. The Titan exploded, it did not implode.
Potential Op Ed versions that condensed this Op Ed and "The Titan Submersible Blew Apart in an Explosion Before Partial Crushing - A Fight Against Public Opinion" were refused by the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, and the Washington Post. These news sources published the results of the MBI Titan report but did not publish these opposing scientific results. A brief slide show summarizing this work is available (click here).
Once again, the truth is buried, and new science to improve public safety was censored by major news sources ("Book Publisher Wanted for a New Book, "Industrial Murder for Profit"").OpEd News has consistently published new scientific findings, and without OpEd News important scientific research for public safety would be stonewalled by government agencies and the Press.
Disclaimer
The intent of this publication and supporting research is to raise legitimate safety concerns that I believe should be investigated by the U.S. Coast Guard in their investigation of the Titan disaster. The intent of this publication is not to make any accusations against any individuals, corporations, or agencies. Issues have been raised concerning testing and quality for the Titan hull ("Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster"). Although very important, those issues are not the focus of this specific work. In my opinion, the concerns for hull failure have overshadowed the probable cause of a viewport failure. No portions of this publication or any other Titan-related publications from Leishear Engineering, LLC, are intended for use in any civil, administrative, local, state, or federal proceedings, such that discussions and facts are provided here for informational safety purposes.
