Because of a long series of human actions the planet now is burning. We have known for perhaps half a century or longer that many of our actions were destructive. We have known that our actions were destroying nature and cultures. We knew long ago that we ought to have changed our ways, but we didn't. It seems we couldn't.
Are we, the collective we humans, like the Aurora man, acquiring more and more weapons, dressing ourselves in layers of "security", killing and wounding thousands of our own species? Knowing we will be judged sooner or later; a kind of species suicide"
The new normal now is: summer temperatures over 100 - (F), millions of acres of forest burnt. Maybe a necessity of creating jobs for more fire fighters despite Congress inevitably rejecting anything that comes from Obama. An iceberg twice the size of Manhattan broke off from Greenland; one of these days a much larger block of ice is going to slide off the Antarctic. Finally the MSM are saying maybe perhaps possibly there is global warming -- but of course we humans have nothing to do with it. Don't blame us, we're the innocent victims. And the Republican presumed candidate for president said that the Aurora horror has nothing to do with gun control; accidents happen.
The history of civilized humans is a chain of such manmade "accidents" that happened.
