It's blood from a stone time in Greece today. The displaced "tenants" and former "homeowners", along with elderly retirees, people with disabilities, hard-working and low-paid public servants marching on the streets in Athens are truly kin to the original American revolutionaries, men and women who have been forced to sacrifice their meager sustenance and humanitarian safety net for the enrichment of the oligarchic rich--and who have become "mad as hell" and won't "take it anymore". They have realized that this isn't "Austerity", it's "Armed Robbery".
None of us, even those who still believe in the "American dream" of opportunities for all, are immune from these assaults in today's economic World War III. We have all been drawn into this war, a war between the oligarchs and their corporate mercenaries versus the rest of the world. The courageous Greek protesters who are engaging in civil disobedience and shaking their fists at the bullying international bankers, globalist cartels, fascist strategists, and cunning and quivering politicians have become mentors and role-models for us all, and should inspire us to advocacy and activism for a return to a moderate, regulated, and, above all, humanitarian society.
NOTE: After penning this editorial, I discovered an outstanding documentary that I recommend to OpEdNews readers that outlines some of these critical issues. You can find information at "http://www.debtocracy.gr" and watch the film on YouTube.
