The damaged Soge Bank up close.
Across from the car wash is Capital Bank
Capital Bank took a beating too.
God help anyone trapped under here. Those they couldn't get out in the first few weeks after the January 12th Earthquake are still in the rubble today, their remains waiting to be discovered by workmen sometime in the future.
And yet the beat goes on here downtown despite it all, life throbbing in the middle of a giant graveyard of buildings and people. Check out what I mean in this video:
A woman sits amidst the remnants of this structure.
More sidewalk vendors
Another building in the distance reduced to shattered rubble, a man with crutches barely discernible off to the left.
Dangling wires and cables everywhere have added to the dangers after the earthquake.
A still-standing room in the distance, as we begin walking toward the Iron Market.
Another Haitian seeking refuge in the shade while perhaps pondering all the chaos and destruction that has overwhelmed Haiti.
********
Next time, waltzing through the Iron Market
