When Americans were looking for someone to stand up to President Bush, they did not see a maverick in McCain, but an accomplice. Both of them as they travel during this election season must open their eyes to see how many of us have been hurt by their party and stop playing the blame game as Romney did. Liberals did not cause this pain.
During this convention, I have seen a commercial where our fellow Americans have been forced into bankruptcy due to high medical bills, we have seen so many Americans crushed by debt as well. One would ask: Where was John McCain? According to PolitiFact.com, “One amendment offered by Kennedy would exempt debtors if their financial problems were caused by medical expenses. All 54 Republicans in the chamber, including McCain, voted against the measure, which was rejected 39-58. Obama joined 37 other Democrats and Vermont Independent James M. Jeffords in voting for it.”
In closing, Governor Sarah Palin along with Romney and Giuliani did not make the case to me why I should even entertain voting for the Republican ticket. When you have a clarion-call telling all that I as a liberal American woman is to blame for this country’s problems, the blame should fall squarely on the shoulders of Pres. Bush and his Republican colleagues in both houses. After all, they were in charge of this government for most of these past eight years.
Note to the GOP: Liberals are Americans too!
