Ah, the tightening grip of the NRA. It has permeated children's fairy tales as well as politicians. For example, today's Republican nominees are no longer "groomed" for greatness, for what they stand for but picked as to who/what they're against, in this case, gun control. The "party of no" has been so busy with obstruction due to the Christian Right and the NRA, that it has failed to actually accomplish anything but dissension, even in its own ranks. Placating the two has been so important that legislating for the rest of America has become, well, secondary.
And look at whom they "groomed" in the past: Sarah Palin. And on this electoral turn: Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and (by default) Donald Trump.
Vote for Ted & Rafael
If we were to take the late Jerry Falwell and reincarnate him and his
Christofascist leanings, we would probably come up with a Ted and Rafael Cruz
ticket. No matter how the Cruz campaign spins it, Rafael Cruz IS out there
setting the standard for his son: a homophobic Christofascist, an
"itinerant preacher" who roams the country drumming up hate for so
many, while justifying Ted Cruz's idea (and Glenn Beck's) that he has been
anointed by God to lead America to moral superiority.
"Invoking God as an avenger."
But who should be avenged: God, or the demoralized Republican Party?
