After all the hoopla has been shouted, vitamins are specific chemicals which act only as catalysts in metabolism. Catalysts serve as facilitators, and are not used up as we breakdown our food. They are thereby regenerated, so that only very small., milligram, amounts are necessary for our engine to run. Kind of like engine oil versus gasoline. Vitamins allow the valves to combust, but are not consumed in the process.
Therefore, the average American diet already contains a surplus of the essential vitamins and minerals, and consuming more is silly, expensive, and possibly dangerous.
So, essentially, we're wasting our money and should invest our time and effort into making real changes - like in exercise and mindful eating?
Collectively, we want to go to the store and buy health in a bottle. No way.
All set.
You've given me a lot to think about. Thanks for talking with me, Walter. It's been a pleasure.
