So, over time, Obama became bored and tired. He's pooped. You saw that this week in his hour-long news conference during which he apologized for the breathtakingly inept rollout of his healthcare initiative. He droned on, apologized and re-apologized. What characterized this lecture from past lectures was the nearly complete lack of passion. His singular asset, his passion-filled lecturing style, has become cold and passionless. He looked it, he sounded like it - he's tired of the job.
And so here we are again, with almost three years more to go before his Oval Office "sentence" ends, we have another president just counting the days until he can snuggle into the warm and protected comfort of ex-presidency.
And here I am again, as I did during the waning months of the disastrous W. Bush presidency, counting the days as well.
Unfortunately, unlike the end of the Bush years, this time I have no one in mind for the job who has both the passion, and progressive policies and the fighting spirit to get the job done.
