In knowing that the war in Iraq is Mammon?s bidding, we Americans are faced with a moral imperative: are we going to keep on serving Mammon, or are we finally going to do the Divine will on earth as it is done in heaven? Are we going to keep fighting each other while Mammon gets even richer off bloody and unjustified war? Or, are we going to finally grow up and start acting reasonably, ethically and fairly? Are we going to continue to promote that society is but a mere collection of individuals and that it is a dog-eat-dog world? Or are we going to act as if the greater good is more important than our own selfish interests? Are we going to devote all our energies to fighting over gay adoption or are we going to stop Mammon from turning the United States of America into the United State of Mammon? Are we going to fight over creationism vs. evolution or are we going to rationally deal with global climatic changes? Changes, I might add, directly related to our greedy consumption of oil. The choices and consequences are ours.
