As you can see, they do believe in keeping their word, they said they would identify these men in 2009 and they appear to be working hard to make sure it does not happen before then. Why, who gains if this does not come out before February 2009?
It surely is not the widows or the disabled veterans, many of them have died or will die before February 2009. Even now if one of the "test vets" files a claim with the VA, they are ignored, lied to, files are misplaced, etc, anything to keep from properly adjudicating the claims.
I have written letters to everyone, Congress, Senators, the Vice President, The President, then I got 50% SC, I have written Rumsfeld, Larry DiRita, his spokesman, the Secretaries of the VA, Principi and Nicholson. No one does anything, why? I have my copy of the EDgewood Arsenal test file, I was there from June 25 1974 thru 22 August 1974. I would like for everyone to write or call your elected officials, Congress, Senators, male or female and let them know how you feel that they are treating these "honorable" veterans three decades after they were abused by the DOD and the CIA, the Army and CIA did apologize in 1975, the DOD has never apologized and tell them that we would like finally hear the words from his lips, that he is sorry he used and abused us, just because he could.
We paid for it with our health, some of us with our lives, and now for him to deny us our veteran benefits to keep from embarassing W, is just not a good enough reason. You two are no better than Saddam is about using chemical weapons on your own people.
