A truly human culture has yet to arise in America on any institutional basis. Instead we have become a classic warfare state, to the point where our institutions and economy depend upon war, and consequently must produce an endless stream of victims to demonize and annihilate.
We are, in this respect, much like the Aztec Empire, which had to institutionalize the "Flowery Wars" with some of its subservient allies, ritual wars that were fought souly for the purpose of capturing warriors for the Aztecs' voluminous human sacrifices. While the Aztecs sacrificed their victims to their blood-thirsty Sun God, we sacrifice our victims to corporate greed and sadistic pleasure.
We are witnessing the devolution of a once promising country, one that is even turning against its centuries old heritage now, the Magna Carta and all the hard-won rights leading up to the Constitution. Changing presidents or tweedle-dee, tweedle-dum parties will not go to the root of this deep and huge problem. An entirely new spiritual, emotional, political, educational and economic paradigm is needed.
