As far as an "arbitrary date" for withdrawal is concerned, I have never heard anybody ask for one. What I have heard many people ask for is a plan, which to this day George W. Bush has failed to provide.
So sorry again, all you Bushie apologists, but "We will settle for nothing less than total victory" is not a plan. Nor is "As they stand up we?ll stand down."
The truth is that there is a plan, but America would never stand for it, so George will never announce it. The plan is to be in Iraq permanently, with multiple permanent military bases and the world's largest United States Embassy, controlling the flow of oil (and therefore the demand and the price, to keep the oily bedfellows happy) from the second largest reserve on the planet.
But to continue to sell the giant farce that began the day he was appointed to the presidency by the Supreme Court (and continued the day the 2004 election was also stolen), Dubya needs a reliable boogeyman to help him manufacture the steady diet of fear that he and his criminal handlers spoon-feed to a still largely gullible American public.
Al Qaeda and the bogus ?war on terror? fit the bill quite nicely.
