Maybe if finances it get too tight he can borrow it from John Kerry 165 to 626 millions or maybe Nancy Pelosi with her $54 million dollar net worth but being Democrats they probably wouldn’t give it to him. But I bet Don Rumsfeld would, he’s got extra, his net assets are valued at up to $174 million dollars. It’s like that statistic about Non family households and the average drops to $27,000, in our Senate the average net worth for the top 25 is between 32 million and 677 million. Do people go into politics to be rich or because they are rich? And don’t think that I fault them for being rich but it sure explains a lot about the way things operate.
Can you with your $46,000 income relate to a starving peasant in Darfur? Our a laborer in Beijing that makes twenty dollars a week? Of course you can’t, not really superficially perhaps but not with any true understanding. So why should we expect leaders with net worths in the hundreds of millions of dollars to understand the plight of their own peasants at $46,000.
Maybe you are rich like a doctor or a lawyer so they can relate to you after all, they’re rich, but so are you! Their assets are only 50 to a 100 times more than yours while yours are only 5 to ten times more than Joe Six Pack. Maybe you’re not as rich as you think or as poor as you realize maybe you’re trying to run with the wrong crowd? Maybe the people that you have the most in common with are right behind you and not in front of you.
