Let me address the idea of writing in Bernie's name or staying home. Don't do it. Vote for a third party candidate. The two party system serves corporations. We need to break the hold the two party system has on the fraud that is called democracy in the US. The first step is to get the the third parties to:
1) receive enough votes so in the next election they get matching funds.
2) poll high enough so they are included in the presidential debates. So, even if you are planning to vote against Trump and go with the lesser of two evils and vote for Hillary, TELL pollsters, if they ask, that you are voting for a third party candidate. Do all you can, even if you are going with the lesser of two evils, to help the third parties. Writing in Bernie or staying at home doesn't help.
3) Base your decision on how you vote on whether you are in a swing state. If you are in one of the swing states, it's a much harder decision. But if you are in a solidly red or blue state, vote third party. Your vote won't make a difference if you vote for Hillary, but it could make a big difference in sending a message to the DNC and the Democratic party-- you'll be giving them the finger that they deserve.
We Need a hashtag for Bernie supporters.
It was great having #FeelTheBern. I believe it was the best hashtag for progressives ever. We need to develop a standard hashtag that we can use to share our ideas, our passions and frustrations. There are hundreds of former or current Bernie Facebook groups, some now Jill Stein groups, where the hashtag can be worked out, but it's important. I'm sticking with #feelthebern for now. It would be better to make it shorter though, so maybe just #Bern
Here are the ten minute talks by Glen Ford and Kshama Sawant. They are well worth watching. Please summarize their points in the comments below. My article covering the protests includes videos of talks by Jill Stein and Nina Turner I recorded. Check them out too.
