They added that they were going to continue on their Doors tour and go to Hinano's Cafe on Washington Street (near the Venice Pier) to ascertain the truth of the rumor that the tavern boasts a bar on which the lead singer for the Doors carved his name.   The columnist, who had lived in that neighborhood for twenty years, had never heard that particular bit of Doors lore.

 

Other tourists might be interested in learning that the location of the mural is at 18th Place and Speedway.  

 

In less than a year, Jim Morrison fans and political analysts from both Parties will be able to easily evaluate the degree of accuracy displayed in the columnist's attempt at long range political election results forecasting.
