I was informed that the former owner allowed trucks from a construction company to pass through his lands to the river to load stones and sand at Bs.F 50 a truck ... they paid nothing for the raw material.
The farm, which was once a wood, has been idle and abandoned for years. Imagine, even the worms were wiped out.
It is a great sight to see a real agrarian reform taking place. The government is taking threats, real or otherwise, seriously and the army is protecting the farm to ensure that the reform gets underway and also to protect the assets of the owner until an agreement has been reached to pay due compensation.
In the meantime, Pedro Camejo workers from all over Venezuela are in Titicare for a week for military training as militias to learn to defend their conquests and harvests.
