It was difficult work but I had grasped the concept of re-channeling part at least part the USA's defense budget into something beneficial to mankind, so I talked with Senators and Senate staff about the idea that had been elucidated in the October 1974 UN Monthly Chronicle.
The reason I went as a Gandhian to Washington was because that Secretary General published his idea about re-channeling the arms race, to get the two apes superpowers off the treadmill.
Certainly, United States, Israel, Russia, and others must have known about his Wehrmacht past.
I really didn't. I only knew that he had been Austria's Ambassador to Canada and was a lawyer. Remember that he was elected to the position of Secretary General twice.
Not long before he died, Kurt Waldheim mailed a letter to me thanking me for my efforts.
