"This does not accomplish anything other than convince the president's base that the election was 'stolen' from them and make it harder for them to ever come to grips with the loss," he added. Yep. And this belief by Trump's base is what's driving and fueling the potential for massive unrest and violence as ways to settle, win and reclaim what was "stolen by an illegitimate government" from a petty, selfish and utterly rejected president who just cannot come to grips with the reality that he's lost this election.
