 · 43% vaccination

 · 276 deaths

South Korea

 · 46.3% vaccination

 · 190 deaths

Taiwan

 · 9.7% vaccinated

 · 8 deaths (23 million population)

Japan:

 · 58.9% vaccination

 · 5 deaths

The truth is we could play this game all day citing lower mortality rates from most of the 165 countries with lower vaccination rates than the US. Efforts by defenders of the dominant narrative to explain away this data are typically absurd. Oh, those places are rural. Nope, Australia and Taiwan, to take just two, are both more urban than the US. Oh, we keep more accurate records than these countries. Better than South Korea, which has universal health care and pioneered successful track and trace? Nope! Oh, those places have more youthful populations that survive COVID better. Seriously? There is no demographic differential in the world that could account for the differences in death rates for the US vs. these less-vaccinated countries. For instance, our death rate is 214 times that of Australia. I am sure we don't have 214 times more senior citizens per capita than the land down under. Not to mention that 83% of our senior citizens should be "100% protected against hospitalization and death" since they have been fully vaccinated. And then there's the geographical social-distancing argument. The one-word refutation of that argument is India.
