As one scuba dives to gaze upon the coral reefs, know that they will perish due to British Petroleum. As one wishes to lie upon some pristine beach to hear the sounds of the waves and the nature that surrounds it, that time is gone. This is not the making of a Sci-Fi movie, but real life.
Even today, Prince William Sound located in Alaska is still haunted by
the Exxon/Valdez oil spill which happened back in 1989. This oil volcano as opined by many experts promises to exceed that spill. How many years into the future will it take this fragile environment to return to normal? I haven't a clue.
Sarah Palin tweeted this on Twitter shortly after the explosion in the Gulf: "SarahPalinUSA Prayers for everyone impacted by the terrible oil rig disaster off the coast of Louisiana, especially families of the missing workers." The hubris of the half-governor to even say that as her state still feels the ramifications of an oil spill past.
Will Sarah Palin include Prince William Sound which was decimated by the Exxon/Valdez oil disaster in her upcoming TLC show which she is being handsomely paid? Will she avoid that area like the plague? Oh, you betcha!
Today one small volcano was capped while two bigger ones still erupt and it boggles the mind how that will affect all of us.
