Turning again to Merriam-Webster, we can infer that calamitous growth would be a "disastrous event marked by great loss and lasting distress and suffering; a state of deep distress misery caused by major misfortune or loss." To me, the most calamitous growth would be the continuous accumulation of evil power by the few that culminates in the end of humanity. We are headed there experts predict by the end of this century, only a few generations away. [4] To stop the "Doomsday Clock" will require neutralizing the power of America's power elite without triggering a bloody massacre of the neutralizers.[5]
Conclusion
Growth is a multifaced concept and phenomenon that spans the good, the bad and the calamitous, the latter of which leads to Doomsday.
