DON'T LET THEM EAT CAKE. WE ARE THE CAKE.
Let them fish for remnants of the tea leaves thrown into the Boston Harbor three hundred years ago, and eat them, pulling their tea leaves out of the water because WE dumped them in in the first place, fighting tyranny.
You call that robbery of the helpless compromise, Barack?
Let all of those poor people bereft of the livelihoods they worked for all of their lives, take to the streets, knocking over police barriers because there will be too many of them to suppress--all those senior citizens, all the mentally and physically challenged people unable to work for a living, all the neglected veterans paralyzed with PTSD, and that near-majority in this country whose earnings hover around the poverty line.
Actually, 43.6 million in 2009, or 14.3 percent of the population, live in abject poverty. Nearly half of all people on Medicare (47 percent) live on incomes below 200 percent of the poverty line.
Now that the bankers are back in commission, at our expense, why not bail out the people who saved them at their own pathetic expense?
One red herring, two red herrings, three and strike them out, throw into their faces their facelifts, their designer clothing, their yachts, their $400,000 festivities, their homes and savings all around the world, their other loopholes and tax exemptions.
At least let us eat cake instead of nothing.
Thirteen days left to pray for wisdom to overthrow the idiocracy.
