I am running for governor as an independent because the only way to end prostitution in our legislature is to have a governor who will veto every bill that is designed to make money for a special-interest group. No Republican or Democrat will ever do that, and we all know it.
Someday, we could simply vote out every incumbent, regardless of party, and the rest of the incumbent senators two years later. Someday, we could even vote for legislators with no party ties. We could even fund their campaigns for about 0.0001% of the money that special interests suck out of Florida every year and save ourselves billions every year.
That's asking a lot of cynical voters--and the 50% of non-voters who think that staying home is the same as voting for "none of the above").
But meanwhile, 50% of Floridians are too embarrassed to associate themselves with either the Democrats or the Republicans. And this year, no one is happy with either of the two main candidates. Now if we can get the votes of the Republicans and Democrats who are disgusted with big-money politics and the big-party candidates, and get some of those non-voters to show up, we could elect an independent governor.
How about it? Don't stay home. Vote for Khavari instead, and we all win.
