Superficially charming, psychopaths tend to make a good first impression on others and often strike observers as remarkably normal. Yet they are self-centered, dishonest and undependable, and at times they engage in irresponsible behavior for no apparent reason other than the sheer fun of it.

Since government employment can be, and is, a corridor to the massive accumulation of wealth, rulers in western democracies tend to be that element of society that has the least scruples and moral constraint; for indeed robbery in the guise of a government agent is infallible. This is why so many Americans feel helpless and dispossessed. Honest people are slowly weeded out of government and often imprisoned. Political elites emerge who hold ordinary people in contempt since they are viewed as prey. When this happens, as it must, society begins to degenerate and disintegrate as a criminal element slowly but inexorably rises to the top and takes control of the nation. In monarchial government there is a cross-section of types due to the vague and capricious nature of birth. The ruling family may beget a bad prince but even if they do, he can easily be assassinated by his own family when he becomes harmful to their station and property. Most of the time however, the prince is not evil but is very often a mediocrity who just wants to go hunting. The nation's stability stays constant as wiser heads prevail and the wealth of the nation remains within and not transferred to the unproductive, foreign hands or hopeless ventures. This is why (with a very few notable exceptions) assassinations in democratic states are far less frequent; primarily because nobody really knows whom to get rid of.

Hannah Arendt; On Violence:

In a fully developed bureaucracy there is nobody left with whom one can argue, to whom one can present grievances, on which the pressures of power can be exerted. Bureaucracy is the form of government in which everybody is deprived of political freedom, of the power to act; for the rule by Nobody is not no-rule, and where all are equally powerless we have a tyranny without a tyrant.

Since the whole of the democratic state is a criminal enterprise one simple political murder cannot alter the fundamental decadence of it. This is why Europe's monarchial imperative lasted for 1400 years but sadly, and after only 250 years, the grand dream of liberal democratic rule in Europe and America has devolved into a wicked and tyrannical ultra-violent police state.
