I remember when Americans did not live in fear daily of the next week and its economic demands. I remember when Americans had savings accounts because they had money to save. I remember when America wasn't distracted into shopping their fears away, either by eating too much, or drinking too much or clothing themselves too expensively or soothing their children with too much, or over medicating themselves into peace and peaceful sleep and fewer stomach ailments.
I now see that first quote is just the opposite. Let it now read, "Government = apoplexy at the circumference (us and our needs) and apathy at the center ( politicians and their needs)."
