As a peer reviewer I vetted articles for an international medical journal. I rarely approved a study for publication because of the abysmal quality of so much medical research.
Unfortunately, a lot of junk ends up in the hands of journalists who don't recognize what they are looking at and don't take the time to find out.
As usual, I intend to ignore those headlines.
