I could go on, but the Juan Williams situation has brought many of these things to a head. However, don't worry, it will be forgotten by many in a few weeks, but not by Fox or the right wing. As of today, Williams and Fox began attacking NPR. Both NPR and PBS have allowed themselves to be weakened by not having a real black man or woman as a commentator, not an "oreo" like Williams. In addition, by not really having any real diversity on their stations or national broadcasts, they have played to the "liberal crowd," but have left themselves open for this new oncoming attack.
Williams is playing the race card, but no black intellectuals, nor the rest of us minorities are buying it. But, as I said, it could be that Fox and Williams did a triple play -- hurting Islam, hurting NPR/PBS and enhancing Fox with the right wing and tea party reactionaries.
