Foreign policy motes in others' eyes

Putin has also signed a law that foresees an exam in the Russian language, history and legislation for all foreigners that wish to acquire a residence permit, work permit or a patent.(7) This doesn't concern highly qualified specialists.

Taking all this into consideration, Russia is accusing the Baltic states and Ukraine of discriminating against Russian-speakers, without providing any evidence. At the same time, Russia makes it mandatory for foreigners to know Russian and forbids them from speaking in their native languages. If this wasn't enough, foreigners are also forced to know Russian history, i.e. Putin's correct Russian history.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit hypocritical? This corresponds to the bully comparison made in the beginning of the article - Putin does whatever he wishes but demands others to follow some made up ideals - made up by him.

I am certain about one thing - any other country in the world would have the audacity to do what Russia is doing, it would be Russia who would be yelling the loudest about the violations of these countries. Is it possible to respect hypocrites?
