By rediscovering their own Golden
Age, Moslem lands can reclaim the true secret of their ancient power:
self-confident tolerance for diversity along with acceptance of whatever
objective reality is telling us, as opposed to trying to force the world into
an arbitrary religio-mythical framework. Actually, the Moslem Brotherhood has
it right: Islam is the solution. Only, Islam must refer to a self-confident,
rational belief system, just as it did during the Islamic Golden Age.
It is time for an Islamic Enlightenment.
The West benefited greatly from the wisdom and scientific learning of Islam
before, and we will benefit from Enlightened Islam again. The Islamic world
used to be much better than us at that which makes us "better" than them today.
It's time that became so again. We need them if we are ever to progress towards
creating a truly adult civilization.
