Yes, until Obama put a moratorium on it in 2014, which is to say such gain-of-function research was happening under his regime, the kind that when you f*ck with Nature it can f*ck back in unknown ways (call it an attempted free peek inside Pandora 's Box) is something Obama knew about it. Such insider information could have proved useful to understanding the current pandemic and our approach to it.
