So, science knows next to nothing as such about us or the universe.
What science knows is merely an ever-changing and a constantly forming and breaking, transitory phenomenon. This impermanent occurrence too, by itself, is supposedly made up of an unreality and an illusion known as atom!
The sages and free mystics of the world call this transitory and constant changing cosmic phenomenon as 'maya' - an illusory is-ness, of nothingness.
Of what lies beyond this illusion, science knows zilch!
For that, the Absolute Truth and the Ultimate Reality, we have to per force seek beyond science. Perhaps look towards the wisdom of the ancient sages and seers of the world, especially of India. And in India nothing is ever hid.
Perhaps the answer lies in metaphysics than physics!
"A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of OPTICAL DELUSION of Consciousness." ~EINSTEIN
