The Modi government's hard-line stance is jeopardizing India's national pride.... If the Modi government refuses to stop, it will push its country into a war that India has no power to control, the Global Times said, adding:

The Modi government should stop lying to its people that "India in 2017 is different from India in 1962." The gap in national strength between the two countries is the largest in the past 50 years. If the Modi government wants to start a war, at least it should tell its people the truth.

China has exercised great restraint, demonstrating respect to peace and human life. The PLA did not strike in the past month when Indian troops savagely trespassed into Chinese territory. If the Modi government takes China's goodwill for weakness, its recklessness will only lead to devastation, the Global Times concluded.

Not surprisingly, the CNN reported on Sunday: "Two combative articles published in China's state-run Global Times newspaper have raised fears of military clashes in the disputed Doklam region that lies at the junction between China, Bhutan and India."
